The stand out were the chargrilled oysters. They are a must. Splurge on the dozen. They come on a bed of buttery sauce that I could eat all on its own with bread. Ask for extra bread and you can use it to soak it all up.

The fried soft shell crab was a pretty decent size with good flavor. Our table ordered a mix of fish, shrimp, soft shell crab, raw oysters and chargrilled oysters. We did have to ask the waitress for tartar sauce several times. I think that should be a given when having fried fish.

We added ourselves to the wait list with the yelp option and received a confirmation text. When we arrived, they didn't have my name on the list, but they made it possible to sit our group right away even though people were waiting.

Only reason this isn't a 1 star rating is because our waitress was wonderful. The service was fine... the food was not. We had 1dz raw oysters, 1dz chargrilled, crab claws, wedge salad, 2 orders of soft shell crab, jambalaya, seafood gumbo, oyster Rockefeller soup, key lime pie, and bananas foster cheesecake. I'll break it down by each dish.

Raw: can't really mess that up, so no complaints there.

Chargrilled: overcooked and chewy. If you like bread and butter sauce, this is delicious. If you actually like oysters... you will be disappointed.

Crab claws: small serving and seemed frozen/prepackaged. Did not pull off like very fresh ones tend to, and the breading was very salty.

Wedge salad: good amount of bleu cheese crumbles and lettuce was fresh. If you mess that up... well there's no helping you.

Soft shell crab: honestly the only thing that was worth going for. Very large in terms of a soft shell.

Jambalaya: excellent if you don't like protein and are a deer in search of a salt-lick! I would better equate this to a salty dirty rice than a jambalaya.

Seafood gumbo: we ordered this to-go. The next day my mom-in-law opened the cup that was 1/2 full of "gumbo" and mostly filled with rice. Not a piece of seafood to be found. So we paid for a large gumbo only to get 1/2 a cup of rice and salty gravy. She took one look and into the trash it went.

Oyster Rockefeller soup: also ordered to-go for a lunch the next day. If you like watered down canned cream of spinach soup with 1 fried oyster, and one (what appeared to be a) hush puppy- this is the "soup" for you!

Key lime pie: publix is better.

Bananas foster cheesecake: well, if you like banana laffy taffy on top of store bought cheesecake- this is the dessert for you! Make sure to enjoy after your can of watered down soup and overly salted jambalaya!

I'm happy we decided to stop here after being a little nervous that it wouldn't compare to the New Orleans location. Oysters were good and shrimp po boy was good. My New Orleans native boyfriend was not super impressed with the chicken and sausage gumbo.

We sat at the bar and got pretty good service.

My family brought us here because it's their tradition when they're in Destin. It's a new location and it was honestly a great experience! We had over 10 people with us and the server never skipped a beat.

Started with drinks, my grandmother and cousin ordered a sunset drink and another one (sorry I'm lacking on the name but they were two fruity drinks) and they were delish! Easy to drink. I had the old fashioned gentleman. They are not stingy with the alcohol which is nice when you're expecting a classic drink.

I'm so glad we opted to try the oysters as recommended by the regulars in our family. Majority of the table ordered the grilled shrimp salad (also recommended). It was very good and filling for a salad. The marinated shrimp was the perfect flavor. I couldn't decide between the raving salad or the seafood etoufee. I opted to be diff and the server recommended the etoufee. I ordered a small which was plenty for me! It was so good; a perfect taste of Louisiana with a little  to it but not too much.

    Very pleasurable experience!

We did call ahead seating for 4 which was great on a busy fall break week. The chargrilled oysters were very good. The Fish Pontchartrain was recommenced by the server but my wife and I both found the fish to be dry,not enough cream sauce, a small portion, and overall bland. Others in our party had a chicken sandwich and a po boy which were just reported to be okay. Server was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, but did take too long between checking on us-especially after the food came. I may possibly try it again in the future, but I would definitely go for a different entree.
